*Contributions will only be published in the eBook of Abstracts if the presenting author of each accepted abstract is registered and paid before May 15, 2025.
Abstract Template
Present your research at the 19th ICCE Conference 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia, a biennial conference under the auspice of the Division of Chemistry and the Environment (DCE) of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS).
Each participant is entitled to submit maximum two abstracts, one for oral presentation and/or one for poster presentation. All abstracts must be in English.
Only on-line submissions via template provided will be taken into account. Please note that the first author MUST be the presenting author. Presenting authors MUST be registered. Registration will be opened from the 15th of November 2024.
Only word documents will be accepted. Abstracts that are not in accordance with template will be sent back to authors for correction.
Submission Process
- Abstracts should be prepared off-line in advance in accordance with the template provided (Microsoft Word).
- Abstracts must be submitted online via the submission form only (https://icce2025.com/submissions/).
- Abstracts submitted by email will not be considered.
- Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
- The name of the abstract must be “Surname_name_first five words of the title”
- Please select the session where you want to present your work and upload your abstract written in accordance to guidelines provided in the template.
- Please note that not all the sessions included in the call for abstracts will be programmed at the meeting. Depending on the number of abstracts received, the Scientific Committee will decide to accept, merge or cancel the session. In the latter case, the Scientific Committee will make suggestions to move your abstract to another session.
- Please select the way you prefer to present (oral or poster).
- By submitting your abstract you confirm that you understand and agree that your abstract will be announced in the Conference Programme and published in the eBook of Abstracts (including figures you provided) that will be publicly available during and after the Conference (as a e-publication with ISBN number). By registering for the conference, you agree to abide the ICCE 2025 Code of Conduct.
- Disclosure of Conflict of Interest. Please confirm that the abstract has not been previously published or presented and that the Figures you include are your own work.
- You will receive an abstract ID number via email after you have submitted your abstract. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
Tips for abstract writing:
- Provide 1-2 sentence of background and explain scientific relevance of your work
- Explain the challenge, hypotheses and methodology
- Report on results and conclusions so far
- Explain the societal relevance of your work
- All abstracts should be submitted in quality suitable for publication and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling
Note: Please note that abstracts should not promote a research institute, consortium/project, commercial product, process, or service. Please make sure that the abstract does not contain any spelling or grammar mistakes. Instructions provided in the template must be strictly followed.
Notifications on the abstracts acceptance will be sent to authors on the 7th of March 2025. If you did not receive the notification from Congress secretariat, please check firstly your spam folder or contact Congress secretariat at icce2025@congrexpo.co.rs.
REGISTRATION FEE GRANTS for students and young researchers
The Foundation Evertéa provides in total 3000 € that will be used for financial support equivalent to registration fee grants to a limited number of students and young researchers from all over the world, who cannot find an alternative source of funding to participate at ICCE 2025. This support will cover the early bird registration fee, including participation in conference sessions (except Satellite Sessions), access to exhibition, welcome reception, coffee and lunch breaks.
Who is eligible?
Eligible candidates for registration fee grants are:
- PhD students and
- Early career researchers that earned their PhD in the last 6 years (not earlier than 15th of February 2018).
- All candidates must be actively involved in the ICCE2025 conference as a presenter of oral or poster presentation. Grants will be personal and can’t be given or transferred to the others.
Documents required for application
- If you are PhD Student you have to provide
- Proof of the student status (valid ID student card with transcript from registering office showing current enrollment) and
- Verification letter from their supervisor that you are entitled to present your work at the ICCE2025 in front of the research group led by supervisor
- If you are early career researcher who earned doctorate no longer than 6 years ago you have to provide
- A copy of PhD degree (diploma), or confirmation from the faculty that they have graduated in defined timeframe.
- A verification letter from your supervisor or head of department that you are in a status of employment.
- A letter of motivation to participate at ICCE2025 including explanation how attendance to the meeting fits your own academic goals and career plans (max 500 words) and how the grant is essential for the participation.
- Already submitted abstract should be once more uploaded with indication is it oral or poster presentation.
Note: We assure you that all personal documents will be handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.
How the applications will be evaluated?
- The Commission composed from the members of ICCE2025 Scientific committee will evaluate applications. Related to the conflict of interest issues (CoI), we assure you that in the case when the member of Commission has CoI, she/he will step out of the review and be replaced by the other member of ICCE2025 Scientific Committee.
- The criteria for the evaluation that will be applied:
- scientific quality,
- motivation,
- societal relevance of the candidate’s research and
- additional criterion, if needed, includes clarity of communication.
Preference will be given to earlier stage researchers.
In order to apply for registration fee grant:
- Firstly, register for the conference ICCE2025 via webpage.
- Do NOT send any payment until decision on your application for support is sent to you.
- Prepare required documents and fill out the Application as soon as you register, by January 25, 2025 17:00 CEST, at the latest.
You will receive the decision by March 15, 2025. Please note that grants will be personal and can’t be given or transferred to the others.
AWARDS for the young researchers
Organizing committee will provide awards for best oral and best poster presentations for young researchers which will be selected by the Scientific Award Committee during the conference and based on quality of the oral and poster presentations. The winners will be announced during closing ceremony.
Who is eligible?
- Participation in the competition for the awards for best oral and best poster presentations is strictly limited to young researchers and PhD students who specifically apply for this category.
- If you are PhD student or not more than 6 years is elapsed from obtaining your PhD degree and would like to compete for the award based on your oral or poster presentation, please follow the instructions below.
Required documentation for the best poster/oral award competition:
- PhD Students have to provide:
- A proof of the student status (valid ID student card with transcript from registering office showing current enrollment) and
- A verification letter from their supervisor that you are entitled to present your work at the ICCE2025 in front of the research group led by supervisor.
- Early career researchers who earned their doctorates no longer than 6 years ago have to provide:
- A copy of their degree (diploma), or confirmation that they have graduated in defined timeframe.
- A verification letter from your supervisor or head of department that you are in a status of employment.
- Already submitted abstract should be once more uploaded here with indication is it oral or poster presentation.
Note: We assure you that all personal documents will be handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.
How the applications will be evaluated?
- The applications will be evaluated by Scientific Award Committee composed of members of ICCE2025 Scientific Committee. Related to the Conflict of interest issues (CoI), in the case when the member of Scientific Award Committee has CoI , she/he will step out of the review and be replaced by the other member of ICCE2025 Scientific Committee.
- The criteria for the evaluation that will be applied:
- scientific quality of the presentation,
- technical quality of the presentation,
- clarity of communication and
- response to societal needs
In order to apply for award:
- Firstly, register for the conference ICCE2025 via webpage.
- Prepare required documents and fill out the Application as soon as you register, by January 25, 2025 until 17:00 CEST at the latest.
- The outcome of the evaluation will be announced at the Closing ceremony.
